SIXTIE RETRO SCENT

2011 Spring/summer season having been directed toward the 70s, the new autumn/winter season is going to be 60, represented by the long bucolic dress.

If you look at this seasons collections, you'll wonder how you'd find the 60s

In fact, it's pretty difficult to see it at first sight.

Indeed, this season main characteristic is that it explains the 60's feeling with strong and mature style, rather than typical items such as miniskirt, shift skirt, a Peter Pan collar shirt or a beret.

We can of course include Prada as the brand which shows the most concretely the comparison with the 60's.

André Courreges and Paco Rabanne received compliments for their collections, which mixed a straight silhouette with silk graphical checks, synthetic fur and plastic scales, by people who can't think about the 'new 60's look'.

Theirs is a brand called Burberry Prorsum which represented the 60's with Prada.

The representative designer from the 60's Christopher Bailey spotted Christobal Balenciaga's cocoon silhouette and began tulip coats; we can find a trace of Balenciaga in the cocoon-shaped coat and the convex bag decorations in Loewe and Rochas collections.

The essential point explaining the 60's is the silhouette, there for the choice of material having the power to easily retain clothes shape is very important.

Bottega Veneta, which created the A-line shape with  an braided ensemble of thick and curly wool, Jill Sander, who presented a circled shoulder with the  parka, and Yves-Saint-Laurent, who showed a straight leather shift dress, really well chose their material.
